Four ways to safari

Pick the safari that fits you

Beekse Bergen is unusual in offering four very different safari experiences on the same site. Most visitors combine two over the course of a day.

Self-drive

Auto-safari

Seven kilometres of safari road through five zones — savanna, woodland, predator (lions, cheetah), waterfowl wetland and the elephant plain. Drive at your own pace, stop where you like, keep your windows closed in the predator zone.

  • Duration 60 – 90 min
  • Best time Morning, soft light
  • Tip Convertible? Closed roof.
Guided

Bus-safari

Open-window safari coach with a guide who tells the stories of the animals and brings the visit alive for children. The bus goes into sections of the savanna the auto-route doesn’t reach.

  • Duration ~45 min
  • Departures Hourly in season
  • Languages Dutch & English
On foot

Walking safari

A 3-kilometre marked walking trail through the smaller-animal area — monkeys, lemurs, ostriches, birds, reptiles. Good for visitors who like to take their time and read every sign.

  • Length 3 km
  • Pace 1 – 2 hours slow
  • Step-free Yes
By boat

Boat-safari

A slow boat across the park lake, past the gibbon and pelican islands. Especially enjoyed by children — the boat is calm, the animals at eye level, the route narrated.

  • Duration ~25 min
  • Season Spring through autumn
  • Capacity ~80 per departure

Stay overnight at the Safari Resort

Adjacent to the park is the Safari Resort — lodges, tented camps and the Karibu hotel, surrounded by paddocks where you can hear the lions at night.

Overnight

Safari lodges

Stone-built lodges with private terraces facing the savanna paddocks of the Safari Resort. The largest sleep up to eight.

Tented

Tented camp

Permanent safari tents on wooden platforms in the woodland section of the resort — warm enough year-round.

Hotel

Karibu hotel

A safari-themed hotel for visitors who prefer hotel-room comfort with a savanna view. Family rooms available.
